Our Menstrual Cycle is our second rite of passage after birth, with the birth portal through our mother being the first! Our cycle is often revered as our fifth vital sign.
For many years, I was not aware and had deep rejection for my cycle. All I knew was my monthly period, referred to as the “menstruation phase,” and ovulation as the “time not to get pregnant".
In 2021, I began uncovering and going on what felt like an excavation journey through the womb, unlearning, unraveling, and uncovering that there is soooo much more to my cycle than just my period!
The inner seasons of our menstrual cycle mirror the outer seasons in nature, reflecting the natural flow and rhythm of our energy and emotions. Just as nature goes through cycles of renewal, growth, peak vitality, and rest, our bodies follow a similar pattern throughout our menstrual cycle.
Let's revolutionize the power of the feminine by reclaiming our menstrual cycle and reconnecting with the ancient wisdom of our womb, by honoring each of the 4 phases!
Rolling up our linen sleeves and diving into it:
A healthy menstrual cycle lasts between 25-35 days, with consistency being a maximum difference of 2-3 days between cycles. Cycles that are shorter or longer than this range provide an opportunity to explore and understand the signs and challenges of our cycle.
Menstruation
This marks the beginning of your cycle, calling for inward reflection, rest & warmth. Nourish yourself with easy-to-digest foods like soups & stews, slow down, create a snuggly nest & honor your sacred blood as a symbol of endings.
Follicular
Slowly feel the flowing movement of life again. Bring your bleed-time insights into action as focus and energy rise, inviting new projects, social outings, and creative energy
Ovulation
Allow yourself to give and receive abundantly, connect to your sensual energy, and embody the natural, magnetic glow of ovulation. Move through this phase with heart-centered presence and orgasmic pleasure.
Luteal
Reflect on the intentions set at the beginning of your cycle. Refine what’s working and release what’s not. Notice premenstrual signs like irritability—often, it’s a need for grounding, nourishment, personal space, and self-care. Shift PMS from ‘premenstrual syndrome’ into ‘please make space’.
Embodying the power of the 4 inner phases, rising with the ebbs & flows has become an innate part of my life as well as tracking my cycle. Tracking your menstrual cycle with a written cycle tracker can help identify where you are in your cycle, empower you to understand your cyclical nature & cultivate a connection between you, your body, womb & cycle.
Thank you for being part of this MENSTRUAL REVOLUTION.
Reclaiming your body, your cycle, your blood!
